the self-consuming fires
notwithstanding
the tripod god
will keep on going after The Fall
one black foot in heaven
one white foot in hell
a mind hot with love
a heart numbed by reason
we straddle and encounter
our dichotomies
spawning inconsistencies and doubts
only at the outer limits
of our detumescent pride
do we remember
the Power of Three
and surrender
without hope!
to drifting centripetally
inward
